Ancestry also has a DNA site https://www.ancestry.com/dna/ethnicity/    findmypast An excellent England and Wales site.  Its transcriptions of data are more accurate than those of ancestry.com  You are unlikely to come across howlers such as Maidstone, Kenya or Berlin, Warwickshire both of which we have seen on ancestry.com.  It has the UK census from 1841-1911 inclusive.  Pay-as-you-go or subscriptions at various levels. FREE SITES Cindi's List The number one source for genealogy links  freebmd England and Wales birth, marriage and death indexes from 01 July 1837 New Zealand BMD New Zealand birth, marriage and death records - privacy restriction based on event dates. IGI The oldest source of free records.  This comes from the church of the Latter Day Saints and is an excellent source for parish records. Commonwealth War Graves Commission Over a million war dead findagrave Names and photographs supplied by volunteers.  particularly good in USA and Canada.  National Archives UK national archives Federation of Family History Societies UK Family History Societies are all here.
